The Sailfish Capital of the World

Formerly known as Potsdam, Stuart is known as the Sailfish Capital of the World and offers tremendous diving, boating and fishing along the St Lucie and Indian Rivers. 

Stuart, the
Martin County seat, is a hub of activity for the region. One of the city's greatest assets is the historic downtown area and it´s flourishing, successful shopping district along the riverfront. Stuart´s Main Street typifies the charm of a small town, and truly has something for everyone. Old-fashioned streetlights and cobblestone accents combine with antiques, clothing boutiques, unique gift shops, galleries as well as terrific restaurants that attract visitors and resident alike. People are drawn to downtown's great selection of over 11 restaurants which offers nightly entertainment ranging from jazz to rock along with menu selections from pizza to exquisite gourmet. It also offers an active performing arts schedule at the Lyric Theater. Stuart's Riverwalk Park, which winds along the St. Lucie River, is just a few blocks away, offering a relaxing and spectacular way to appreciate the river's beauty. Visitors can stroll the Riverwalk along the St. Lucie River and take a self guided historic walking tour.

Stuart is the largest city in Martin County.  Do you like to fish, golf, or spend time at the beach? You can do all three in the same day in Stuart!  

There is a great deal of housing that centers around communities catering to people interested in amenities such as golf, tennis, clubhouses, pools and other recreational activities.  From retirement communities, to single living, Stuart is known for its natural beauty and its small town friendly charm, miles of uncrowded beaches and beautiful wetlands with natural inhabitants. The Stuart area continues to grow as home buyers are lured to its enticing climate and booming economy.
